100 yrs ago when you werent even born. There was a swagman named Billy. He woke up and heard the kookaburra and felt the heat of the Austrailan bush. He woke up and heard the sound of angry people and could smell smoke.
He followed the smell of smoke and as a result he could see people and how angry they were. He walked to there and saw angry strikers. He asked one of the strikers named Jim he said ”We want higher wages.” The swagman didn’t know what higher wages meant. So the federal police made an important speech about increasing wages and all the strikers listened. The swagman was happy because he went to work and earned a bit more money,so thats the story of the happy swagman.
Billy worked at Mcpherson farm as a shearer. He needed the money for a house, food , and clothes. Billy met a lovely lady and eventually they got married and had 2 kids and eventually he owned his own farm and lived happily ever after.
